Completed in September 2025, the 788 m² building features timber framing, a Coloursteel roof, and a combination of brick and weatherboard cladding for a timeless appearance. Inside, fourteen self-contained studio rooms each include an ensuite and tea-making facilities, arranged across three wings that maximise sunlight and provide private outdoor terraces. Shared lounge and dining spaces form the heart of the home, supported by daily care from a team of housekeepers.
The project was delivered through the combined efforts of Gravity Architecture, iLine Construction, and the dedicated Abbeyfield Western Bay of Plenty committee, who led six years of fundraising and planning. Supported by many across the community, the result is a high-quality home that offers Katikati’s seniors comfort, independence, and a strong sense of belonging.
